Event Description
This African American Mental Awareness Symposium (AAMHS) will bring awareness to individuals, family members, consumers, providers, advocates, clergy and medical staff on the impact of mental health within the African American community. It will explore a variety of treatment options, raise awareness of current issues, provide training on culturally competent mental health services and show ways to navigate the system for care, support and advocacy.

Who Are We?
The Synergy Health Center (SHC)is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization that transforms lives through mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse services, with particular attention to African Americans. SHC was created to advocate for and provide professional multi-cultural mental health, substance abuse treatment and prevention service.
